Price separately: 14,400 KZT

The profile includes the following tests:

  • TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)
  • free T4
  • free T3
  • anti-TPO (antithyroid microsomal antibody)
  • anti-TG (antithyroglobulin antibody)

The Thyroid Profile helps to identify thyroid disorders and to monitor treatment effectiveness.

TSH

One of the main hormones that controls the functioning of the thyroid gland. It is produced by the pituitary gland and regulates the production of the hormones Thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3).

  • Elevated TSH levels can indicate hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland is less active. This is manifested by fatigue, mood changes and weight gain along with other characteristic symptoms.
  • Decreased TSH levels may indicate hyperthyroidism - an overactive thyroid gland. Heart palpitations, anxiety, insomnia and weight loss

Why is this test necessary?

If there are suspicions of hormonal imbalance or notice such changes as permanent fatigue, weight problems, mood chamge or a sharp decline in performance, TSH test will help to identify hidden problems at the early stages.

Hyperthyroidism symptoms:

  • Rapid heartbeat;
  • Increased nervousness and anxiety;
  • Abrupt weight loss for no apparent reason;
  • Insomnia and trouble sleeping;
  • Weakness and rapid fatigue;
  • Diarrhoa;
  • Glare sensitivity;
  • Reduced vision

Hypothyroidism symptoms:

  • Dry and flaky skin;
  • Tendency to constipation;
  • Cold sensitivity;
  • Puffiness;
  • Hair loss;
  • Constant weakness and increased fatigue;
  • Menstrual disorders in women.

Free Т4

One of the two main thyroid hormones responsible for maintaining overall metabolism.

Т4 functions:

  • Metabolism regulation and help in controlling weight and body temperature.
  • Maintaining the cardiovascular system and participating in body growth and development.
  • Particularly importance for the correct formation of children’s nervous system and maintenance of adults’ cognitive functions.

Why is this test necessary?

The test helps determine how actively the thyroid gland is producing hormones and whether treatment needs to be adjusted. Abnormalities in T4 levels can manifest themselves as weight fluctuations and mood instability.

Free Т3

A hormone that affects virtually every process in the body, including metabolic rate, heart and nervous system function.

Increased T3 levels symptoms

It usually indicates hyperthyroidism. The body works at maximum speed, which leads to tachycardia, insomnia, trembling hands and a sharp decrease in body weight.

Decreased T3 levels symptoms

It is often seen in hypothyroidism and can manifest with decreased energy, slowed thought processes and worsened mood.

anti-TPO

An indicator that helps detect autoimmune thyroid diseases.

High levels of anti-TPO indicate that the immune system is beginning to attack your own thyroid gland, which can lead to diseases such as:

  • Hashimoto’s disease
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hyperthyroidism

This test is mandatory in any suspicion of autoimmune disorders.

Anti-TG

Antibodies to protein thyroglobulin play a key role in T3 and T4 hormones synthesis. Elevated anti-TG antibodies may indicate the presence of autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s disease or Graves’ disease.

Why is this test necessary?

Helps to detect latent autoimmune disorders in the thyroid gland even before the appearance of pronounced symptoms.

The promotion is available in all OLYMP CDL treatment rooms throughout Kazakhstan.
