"Liver Examination" Profile (promotion)
The Liver Examination Profile is intended as a comprehensive preventive diagnosis of the liver condition. This range of analyses does not reflect the presence of any specific liver disease, but it allows the most accurate assessment of liver function and the degree of severity of an already known disease.
- ALT, AST are intracellular enzymes which enter the bloodstream when liver cells are destroyed;
- Alkaline phosphatase appears in blood due to death of liver cells or blockage of the biliary tract;
- Alpha-amylase increased levels in blood are characteristic of pancreas diseases, as well as the biliary tract (e.g., cholecystitis);
- Gammaglutamyltransferase (GGTP) is another intracellular enzyme which concentration increases in many liver pathologies, as a result of taking medications which negatively affect the liver;
- Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is informative as an indicator of the severity of the disease for diagnosis of liver conditions;
- Total protein is one of the functions of the liver is to create new protein molecules. In liver disease, the level of protein in the blood decreases dramatically;
- Albumin is one of the vital proteins which amount decreases in liver disease. Analysis is necessary to decide if intravenous infusion of albumin is needed;
- Total and direct bilirubin is a substance which metabolism is disturbed in the body when there are liver abnormalities. It causes the so-called “jaundice”. According to the ratio of these two indicators, you can assume the cause of jaundice. It should be noted that jaundice appears when the concentration of bilirubin is 2 times higher than the norm.
